EXPERIENCE

I want my clients to have the best possible makeup service I can offer.  I always respond to messages as quickly as I can, and aside from this site, I have email and facebook as a way to book your appointment with me.  Once makeup requirements and pricing are discussed and agreed upon, a deposit (approximately 25% of the total) is required to secure the booking in the calendar.  The deposit is non-refundable (meaning if you decide to cancel within a certain timeframe, you will lose your deposit) but it is usually possible to move your appointment once if you would like to rearrange the booking, and the deposit can be valid for that.  If a booking is changed a second time then a new deposit will be required.  The balance of the quote will be due either slightly before or on the day of the makeup.  My most common forms of payment are bank transfer, cash then paypal. I am a member of Paym, so my phone number can be used to receive payments, and my direct Paypal link can be found on the 'ABOUT' page.

Bridal trials are held at my studio, as are appointments on busier makeup days such as Halloween.  Appointments at my studio allow me to create the most hygienic workspace for myself and my clients, and to keep these conditions as consistent as possible. If you cannot make it to my studio then I may be able to travel depending on the location, under special circumstances, which might incur a travel charge.  The studio address will be given to you once the deposit is paid and the booking confirmed.  If you have any questions or concerns before your appointment date then I am happy to help. I am able to consult with clients prior to thier appointment via video call if requested.

On the day of your appointment, I will have a quick discussion and consultation with you about your basic skincare and makeup routines, and then the sort of look we will be going for on the day, if we haven't already confirmed this.  You are welcome to bring any inspirational images with you but please bear in mind that all artists work differently and have their own styles, I will of course try my upmost to recreate a look for you, but I find it works best if you look for the inspiration from my website of looks that I have created before.

The makeup usually takes around an hour to complete. Please allow up to an hour for makeups such as prom & party makeup, and up to two hours if you are coming for a Bridal Trial. I like to do a complete face of makeup and these timings allow me to do my best makeup for you. Please do let me know if you would like a hot or cold drink, or maybe a snack if your appointment is early.  Under usual circumstances you are welcome to bring someone with you, however there is a limited amount of space in the studio so I may not be able to accomdate more than one guest with you, unfortunately due to COVID-19 this is not currently an option.  I would also politely ask you not to bring young children with you because of Safety & Hygiene. It can also be a distraction whilst I am working and I also would like the experience to be as stree-free for you as possible. When the makeup is finished, I will ask if I can take some photos of the finished look, so please let me know if you would rather any images did not go on my media platforms.

I have a contract that I am happy to send to my clients via email, and I also provide a written quote/invoice for accounts purposes.

I hope that your Makeup By Lorna experience is a good one, and if so it would be much appreciated if you could leave me a review on my Facebook or Google page afterwards. Thank you so much for choosing my business!
